    Pope Francis ignored his prepared Palm Sunday homily and spoke entirely off-the-cuff in a remarkable departure from practice. In his homily, Francis called upon us to look into our hearts to see how we are living our lives.     Join the High School Group this Friday, April 18, to help clean up the Little Falls Creek and Capital Crescent Trail just down the street from Little Flower. We will meet at Little Flower outside the Parish Hall at 9:30 am for a light breakfast, then walk to the trail to pick up litter for a couple of hours. We will return to Little Flower before noon in time for Monsignor Vaghi's Good Friday talk. Please RSVP to Katie at

    Sometimes children miss the traditional timing for receiving the Sacraments. Whatever the reason, we are always happy to welcome these children and their families and will guide them through the process. Deacon Jim Shanahan will be leading a class on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30 pm in the School Music Room for children who may not have had the opportunity to receive all of their Sacraments (Baptism, Eucharist, Reconciliation.)     On January 5, during a Mass for the Solemnity of the Epiphany of Our Lord at the Basilica of the National Shrine, Cardinal Wuerl presented awards to more than 200 Catholics.The Manifesting of the Kingdom award is given by the Archbishop of Washington to laywomen and laymen and to the consecrated women and men who demonstrate the presence of Jesus in their lives and have participated in an exceptional service to the Church. Congratulations to Stephen, Kathy and Elizabeth!
