We would like to take a group of Middle Schoolers to a fabulous camp opportunity this summer.  The Damascus group is bringing their program to Emmitsburg, MD and has several sessions available.  A week at Damascus Summer Camp is a chance for students in Grades 6-8 to step away from the distractions of daily life and experience high-adventure activities that lead to a high-adventure faith.

The mission of Damascus is to awaken, empower, and equip a generation to live the adventure of the Catholic faith through world-class programs and an environment of encounter.  They have some startling statistics:

• 5 out of 6 young people confirmed in your parish today will no longer be practicing their Catholic faith within 10 years of their Confirmation.
• Over 50% of Americans raised Catholic no longer identify as such.
• More than 70% of American Catholics no longer attend Mass regularly.
• Of those who remain Catholic after college, 89% identify a particular event or experience that triggered their faith commitment. Damascus exists to provide these events and experiences.

Damascus believes in the power of the Holy Spirit to awaken young people to a faith that is deep, contagious, and joy-filled. They provide an environment of encounter with Jesus to thousands through world-class camps, retreats, and conferences every year while forming lifelong missionary leaders for the Church.
