High School Service Retreat “Seeing the Face of Jesus” June 23 – June 28, 2019
Dear High School Students and Parents,
This summer high school students from the Little Flower and St. Ann's Youth Groups will embark on a unique and powerful experience of faith in action ministering to those in need in the city of New York. This is the third summer service trip our parish has offered--in 2017 our high school students went to West Virginia to repair homes in Appalachia and in 2018 we piloted this NYC program. Both have been meaningful, rewarding and memorable weeks!
This year's theme for our service trip is “Seeing the Face of Jesus.” Whether our activity is working in a soup kitchen, setting up for a youth camp, hanging out with friends, going to Mass, or walking the streets of New York – our goal is to encounter and recognize the face of Jesus Christ. The experience is an opportunity for our students to grow in their Catholic faith and build new friendships over the course of the week.
The paper application contains a more detailed description of the trip. I encourage all current Grade 9-12 students to read the materials and consider applying. The cost will be $600 and space will be limited. So, if you are interested, I recommend that you return this application as soon as possible and no later than April 30th. Applications can be completed online below or printed in paper copy and dropped off at the rectory. Questions can be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or see me for details.
Thank you for your consideration, and I’m very excited to be working with as many of you as possible this summer! In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me, Jo Borsh, Linda Kueter, or Natalie Plumb who are helping to organize this trip.
Sincerely in Christ,
