On Sunday October 18th, we'll take a day trip instead of our usual meeting. It will be an/earlier longer time slot because of the distance and timing, but we hope many of you will adjust your day for this activity!!

Location: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Shrine and Cemetery and Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary, Emmitsburg, MD
Cost: $25. Includes event ticket and bus transportation. Please bring a bagged dinner for yourself
Time: Departure at 3:00pm from Little Flower Church, return at 9:00pm
Stop 1: Mount St. Mary's Seminary - We will join the seminary community for their Solemn Community Vespers at 5:30 pm. This is a formal prayer service that is a significant part of the seminary's musical and liturgical life. Their Vespers Schola is a highly accomplished singing group that performs chants and sacred music. As we learn about various ways to pray this year, being a part of Vespers here will certainly broaden our scope. And if you have a background or interest in music, you won’t want to miss hearing them!
We will take a short break in between for everyone to have a bite to eat.
Stop 2: "Back from the Dead" Cemetery Walk at the Seton Shrine - This is an engaging and inspiring "evangelization drama" to help teach the Catholic faith about the "Last Things" including teachings on the Communion of Saints, the angels, and the three great virtues: faith, hope and charity. Visitors walk among the dead, so to speak - encountering actors portraying both historic and fictional figures. As a guide leads you by candlelight, saints and martyrs come to life to tell their stories and reflect upon death, judgment, heaven and hell. Through these encounters you’ll discover what it means to be truly alive, both now and in the life to come. It’s an evening of faith, reflection, and powerful storytelling for anyone seeking meaning and inspiration.
The walk lasts about an hour, draws thousands of visitors each year, and consistently sells out. There will also be a short time beforehand to see the Shrine and browse their gift shop, if desired.
Please complete this online permission slip on or before October 10, 2025. We have secured 25 tickets. A completed, paid form is needed to guarantee a spot. Spots will be assigned in the order reservations are received until the trip is full. If all tickets are not claimed by teens by 10/10, we will open the trip to others.
